DHRC Merchandise

Only The Best

Over the years the DHRC has offered a wide range of company-branded souvenir items.

Our 1936 Zippo lighter and ashtray combo, with inset DHRC logo, sold out in weeks and was re-issued twelve times before being discontinued in the early 1960s. The Amerrycana Christmas Fair Isle cardigan with DHRC-branded buttons was a popular purchase in 1973, and Val Doonican was said to have owned three.

In recent years DHRC Sarsaparilla cordial, Harvest Hootenanny horsehair hats (sold exclusively by Millers of Peebles), and sponsored editions of the Peeblesshire News have all been eagerly collected by fans around the world.

Tincture Of DHRC

By far the most popular DHRC souvenir ever produced was the 1908 DHRC Laudanum Tincture of Opium in One Dram bottles, sold at the Amerrycana show at the Grand Old Eastgate Theatre as a drinks mixer.

Nearly a thousand bottles were sold over three performance nights but, despite considerable demand, the Tincture was discontinued the following year. Bottles occasionally appear on eBay and sell for considerable sums.
